Most of the ENT operations I perform in my specialty are performed on children. The most frequently performed operation in both children and adults is tonsillectomy. In children, adenoid surgery is almost always added to this operation. In recent years, ear tube (ventilation tube) surgery has also started to be added alongside tonsil and adenoid surgery. Although this generally seems to families like a large number of operations, it is in fact very beneficial for the child to regain their health. In children, tonsil, adenoid (adenoidectomy), ear tube (grommet) and neck cyst operations are performed very frequently.
